Unfortunately, Juliet Denbrough realized she was not exempt from the hurdles of the adult world.

Juliet accepted that she did not understand everything about the world she lived in. Her belief was that she had all the time in high school to brush off any distracting teenage shenanigans and become the responsible adult that was expected of her. She thought that when the time came, she would learn to dodge messy love lives, confusing emotions, and family drama all worthy of a John Hughes movie. None of that was real, it was only a source of entertainment people sought out when their lives were too boring.

Right now, she couldn't care less about who liked whom, what socks matched her shoes and what nervous habit was considered potentially unattractive. Friends of hers seemed to like her enough to keep her around, even if she wasn't considered interesting enough to the rest of Derry's student population. She was okay with that. When she was old enough, she'd be ready to take on the world, just like in the stories she was told before bed. But she was wrong.
