Kurosawa Mai is an awkwardly shy girl from Niigata who doesn't have any friend besides Enoki Hoshi. Even then, they don't interact much with each other.
Then Mai's father had to move to Tokyo because of business and her family had to come with him. She is a new transfer student in Uranokizaka Middle School.
With a new life, Mai tries to be more confident in making friends. She tries to experience new ways in participating in different activities. She also notices the change in her life and the new atmosphere. Will she ever succeed to make new, genuine friends?
