At least not the kind of understanding with which the average person identifies. Agnes is one of the few people that can accept all kinds of love. Despite her dated name, she is a woman in her late 20's dealing with the death of most of her family. She's now stuck in the middle of figuring out how to raise children that she never saw in her future and deciding what love means for her, when it has to exist within layer upon layer of complication. She let go of her boyfriend after almost a decade because their love wasn't meant to exist under the strain of children, only to find herself confronted with the overpowering connection of her old high school sweetheart. The same man she ran away from because their values hardly aligned when it came to how love should be expressed long term. Within the midst of learning how to raise children and balance her ever-building career, Agnes tries to recover from her mother's death, seek comfort without complicating her circumstance, and figure out why her mother would name her Agnes. Finding real comfort starts to feel impossible, as her most available options are her ex-boyfriend and her assistant. Completed! Rejected 6 times** "This one just isn't for us." "The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. Atticus and Olivia have a past...and share the same fate. But as they're trying to move on from the cruel cards they've been dealt with in life a presence with evil intentions looms over them like a bad omen. When they're finally given a chance at happiness will fate smile down on them or are they doomed forever? *** "You've got chocolate on your lip." He chuckles as I try to wipe it. "Come here." I lean in and he wipes the corner of my lip but the whole time his eyes are on mine. The intensity of them makes me hold my breath which escapes when he leans forward. His eyes flicker between mine and my lips hesitantly yet I can't find words because I'm freaking out inside. And just as we're a breath away he stops. I make a noise of frustration before grabbing his collar and pulling him to me. He smiles breathtakingly before finally pressing his lips to mine. It feels like I got shocked at first and then the lightest flurry of tingles shoots through my body deliciously. I wind my arms around his neck and push myself closer, craving more of him. His lips are soft as he kisses me sweetly and eventually coaxes my lips to open. I let him in and our tongues become engaged in an enticing dance before we pull away. I'm slightly out of breath as we stare at each other. Atticus grins boyishly before leaning in, as if not being able to resist, and pecking my lips a few times. "I missed the feel of your lips on mine." And just like that I feel myself burst with happiness. "Well, I don't mind making up for lost time." "Come here then." He chuckles before his lips come crashing down on mine once more. Published to Wattpad: 31/10/2019 - 25/12/2019 Cover: WYLD_ROSE © 2019 - 2021 WYLD_ROSE ALL RIGHTS RESERVED!
