No one truly knows why it happens. Some believe it originated from ancient Europe, tracing back to stone formations and ancient worship of the sun, moon, and stars. Others point fingers to areas all around the world, bringing the conclusion to the very start of life on Earth. Some even believe that the divine itself bestows it upon our feeble race, though most are hesitant to jump to such conclusions. Scientists especially are stumped by the phenomenon, unable to determine how a human being could possibly manipulate the energy of the universe at will. What most can agree on, however, is that not everyone is so fortunate to be born with what the world has come to call "witchcraft."

But after reading my fellow authors' fanfiction Nihonkoku Shoukan(NHS) Kai, and how they brought the story to life, I felt motivated to try my luck. The story was what brought me to the military isekai genre before discovering NHS. I want to pay my respects to the original and write a properly fleshed-out version. It will follow the same characters, but they will have their personal lives and conflicts, and have actual human responses to the yandere question. I own nothing except my own ideas.

The Mechanics of Us
Human DNA is composed of stars. Stars that have been broken down into nanoparticles that have dispersed themselves throughout the universe; they harness the energy of the cosmos and transitively embedded their limitless potentials in every fiber of conscious existence. Logically, there has to be a reason then as to why life was given to those on Earth. Why humans were given such divinities from the universe. After all, the saying goes, "everyone was born for a reason," meaning those born with unworldly energies must have been given life to fulfill an unknown purpose that is greater than themselves. We are only given a certain amount of time in this world to live up to our given potential because, just like the stars, humans also fade away. A star's glow is a result of a series of chemical reactions that are housed at its core. Similarly, our lives are like a series of chemical reactions, vibrant, unpredictable, chaotic. They only last for a certain amount of time before the limiting reagent is used up in its entirety, ceasing the continuation of spontaneity. All of us have a limiting reagent, a chemical that is used up first, which then halts the chemical reaction and stops its continuity. And unfortunately, some of us possess a more powerful limiting reagent than others, making their chemical reaction burn out quicker than others. In this society, when your time is up, it is up, there is nothing else to be done. Any form of medication or medical intervention that was not created naturally by the Earth is frowned upon. That form dilutes the existing energies and manifestations of limitless potential. It makes those who use it less than and, in a way, tainted by the inconveniences of man-made alterations. It was said that a child would be born of the seven realms that would possess great powers. She would be a witch and changeling alike. Any child born of two races was ordered to be eliminated to keep from having the prophecy held true. So for millennia, children of mixed births were either stolen or murdered to keep the peace. It wasn't until a baby girl was born of the King and Lady Mother of the Morgan Realm that the prophecy came true. Unknown to the covens outside the palace walls, the girl was considered human. When the child was two-years-old she was stolen from her realm and whisked off far away to the coven of Aberdeen where she was taught that of Air magick. For sixteen years this girl learned all that there were to being an Air witch, thinking that she was one after all these years. And so when her 18th birthday arrived, she ascended with the other girls of the same age, only to find out that she was different than all the others. When the Ascension stone split, the others of the coven knew that the prophecy was true and that the child that would bring death to them was right in front of them. Soon the girl was locked away to die a slow death as the Elder was scared that death would come soon.
