Blindside (n). a direction in which a person has a poor view, typically of approaching danger (v). catch (someone) unprepared; attack from an unexpected position In snowboarding, A term given to any rotation where the snowboarder has oriented themselves "blind" to their takeoff or landing and must stretch to look over their shoulder.
