Zachary Taylor has been growing up with his abusive parents ever since he could talk. He's gotten through years of bullying at school as well. But when Ben Platt and the rest of the cast of Dear Evan Hansen find this boy, they decide that they need to help him.

Evan Hansen is an introverted teenager with severe social anxiety. His mother, in attempt to get Evan out of his shell and into the world, pushes him to sign up for a theatre class. After some arguing and relentless begging, Evan reluctantly agrees, only wanting to make his mom happy. Connor Murphy, facing depression, drug addiction, and an increasingly deteriorating relationship with his family, finds joy only in weed and acting. He'd been attending the same class for three years, the only place he felt at peace. On Evan's first day, he notices everyone else already had their own groups of friends, no one was alone, except him. Well, him and the boy with the long hair and black hoodie who was intimidatingly brooding in the corner. Connor is not the most welcoming, in fact he's far from it. Though, eventually he begins to tolerate Evan's presence, and soon goes from tolerating it to enjoying it. When Evan miraculously gets cast as the lead role in a show the class is performing, Connor takes it upon himself to help Evan step into the spotlight. Connor Murphy is basically a prostitute. He left home at seventeen and realised the easiest way to make a living was by selling his body, which takes a big toll on his mental health. He reaches the point where he feels as though life is pointless. Evan Hansen is a typical college student. He deals with medically diagnosed anxiety and mild depression on top of college classes and his outgoing roommate and best friend, Jared Kleinman. Trigger warnings: sexual, physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, smut, probably homophobic slurs at some point, sporadic cursing, mental illness, thoughts of suicide and self deprecation, and probably a few more I can't think of Slow-ish updates
