Serious turquoise eyes settled on the distant horizon, blackened with the night.
Behind the broad shoulders, straightened by confidence and purpose, a smaller figure gazed upon the tall male with such pained eyes. Kai was too far ahead, he would never be able to reach him. The truth hurt and bit in, making the boy cringe in his own self-indulged inferiority.

"Keep moving forward," Kai suddenly said, breaking the silence that was accompanied only by the whisking of the waves. "As long as you keep moving forward," he looked back at the boy, "our paths will definitely cross."

"Our paths will definitely cross?" Aichi repeated slowly. Such words gave him hope, that one day maybe, he would stand at par with the one whom he admired the most -

at the final stage,
at their promised crossroad.
