With arguments alerting child protective services, and her home life causing her to act out at school, rumors about Riley Gaskin spread like wildfire when the town finds out her father was accidentally murdered. As the murder gets pinned on her, teachers feel unsafe with a convicted felon walking the halls. Running away from her reputation and violent household, Riley adapts to being homeless on the streets, hitchhiking, and making money however she can. But somehow she always finds her way back home.
