If you were ever raised in the hood, you would know exactly how 22 year-old Kevin DeVon Williams feels. Born and raised by a single mother in the streets of Compton, California, Kevin didn't have that much support he needed. He was an only child, had no father there to support him, and had to learn how to adapt to the life in the streets. It was a struggle for Kevin when he was young. He was always doubted. By his teachers, schoolmates, everyone. Except for his best friend, Kyle. They were both in the same situation, and wanted to prove themselves. Which is why they decided to prove themselves by attempting to perform one of, if not, the greatest crime in the world: The question remains: Will they prove themselves worthy? (Story told in 1st Person Point Of View)

I honestly didn't realize how broken I was. I just figured that if I shut all my feelings out that they would go away. They didn't. They came back strong as ever. And I did the worst thing that I could do. I let my feelings get the best of me. My daddy told me to never let anyone walk over me. And yet that is exactly what everybody does. It's like he knew that this was gonna happen like he wanted me to be prepared. Too bad I didn't listen. And now no one's here to help me. And then the new kid comes along. Jake Johnson. He caught my eye the first time I saw him. I can look at him and tell that he had a story. And I wanted to know it. He helped me in a way that I thought nobody else could. He was there for me when no one else was . Now it's my turn, to be there for him. I will not let my feelings or emotions get in the way of me helping someone that I love. Join me, Charlie Campbell, on my ride through a lot of different emotions but overall Finding who you belong with. #846 in Short Story. 7/22/17 #150 in Short Story. 8/3/17 This is my first story!
