When Indi shows up at the reading of Great Aunt Minnie's will, she's expecting nothing. Minnie Abernathy was a notoriously disagreeable old woman who vowed to never leave a penny of her sizable wealth to any of her family members. But something must have changed because Indi, as the least despised great-niece, is named as full heir to the Abernathy fortune.
If she can fulfill the tasks Minnie assigned her.
Tasks that would take her across the world from the family estate and make Indi wonder if this is Minnie's final joke from beyond the grave.
This is no heartwarming tale of connecting to a misunderstood family member. No happy story of completing Minnie's unfinished charity work.
This is the story of the impossible bucket list and the longest month of Indi Kline's life.

With no last-minute love interest, no newfound best friend and certainly not the prospect of having to move again in the middle of her final year because of a job offer her mother receives. But most importantly to be able to use the last ounce of will she has left to suppress the memories of her twin sister Annie Brians and the week they both spent together when she and her family came to Washington for the first time to meet with Ammie since they both were forcefully separated at 3 years old. Ammie wants to forget about the encounter, even though it was the best week of her entire life, because since then Annie never tried to contact her again. Whereas Annie Brians who lives halfway across the world in England simply wants to continue living the privileged life she has been living with all the love, care and kindness that comes with it from her father and stepmother. But as they always say 'no matter the plans you make or desires you have; life will do whatever it wants'.
