Ever since Riley could remember, her life had been different. 
Like for example, mermaids lived in the rivers and waterways by her, most of her friends were either half-fairies or half-leprechaun. But her? She was abnormal compared to them. She was human, which was a rare occurrence.
And when her mom passed away, no one had even heard of the disease that had killed her.
When she was 13, her dad ran away, the stress of something driving him insane and no one, no even her friends that had special telepathy, could find him.

When her sister's displeasure with her grows worse, Muriel seeks to avoid it. In a desperate attempt to do so she finds herself cave of the sea witch Minerva. Philip's kindness remains prominent in her mind when Minerva offers her a choice to be a human. Hesitantly she agrees, unaware of how different the human world from hers. Philip's bodyguard begins to catch on that Muriel is different and Percy and the king quickly become desperate to find her. My own version of "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen.
