In this world, you can't have any flaws, and if you don't you are what they call "Pretty". But if you have any flaws at all, you are what they call "Ugly". The "Uglys" get sent away to a high-tech prison until they come of age. Sean is a 15 year old boy who lives with his mother, father and brother Jack. 
They thought their family was fully "Pretty" until Sean finds out that Jack and this guy have been seeing each other for a while. In order to say his brother, he must take his place and become "Ugly".
