Claire is a mage with exceptional magical talent if not too exceptional for the higher ups within the Guild that monitors all mages of the world. She is an orphan and grew up in a Home for Magical Children on Mage Island, floating in the middle of the Pacific. Under constant watch and scrutiny from the Guild, Claire now finds herself working side by side with a Black, the very family that was breed to become mage assassins, killing thousands of her people. The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. Raven accepts Claire without cause while Claire lays her life down for the man who stole her heart. As they fall for one another a dark figure lerks in the shadows, plotting something sinister for our mage Claire. Could this dark figure perhaps have something to do with Claire's unclear past? Death's Lethal Embrace
What if you accidentally summoned the goddess of death? Well, believe me, I never thought I would be in this situation. With a sick mother and a little sister to care for, a murderous goddess up my ass was the last thing I needed or wanted. But there wasn't much choice I had, so I figured, hey? Maybe she can offer me some help. Well, turns out the reward for raising the dead wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Enchanted by her beauty and unique sense of humor, I let my guard down and that sealed my fate. When she abruptly kidnaps me from my home and tears me from my loved ones, I vowed to do all I could to get back to them, even if it included finding a way to kill the deity we used to pray to. Only, I never expected the knife to cut me as well.

A Hero With/Out Time

Up until now I had always thought I was normal, a little on the weirder side but at least normal enough. Then I died and well... I didn't. No, my jobs outnumber theirs tenfold for I am... their cook, their driver, the baggage carrier, blacksmith, tailor, potions maker, bird tender and so on and so forth. Being trapped inside one place most of your life is suffocating. So I took it upon myself to go behind my mother's back every chance I got to leave. I never thought that one day I would be caught.
