'Where am I?', a voice rang out into the darkness. It sounded like a young female- with melodious undertones incorporated into her non-existent accent. Surrounding the voice was all dark, so dark that the brightest sun could not penetrate it. Did I just say 'sun' instead of 'light'? Yes. I did. The Sun was the rarest sight in this world. Its magnificent rays shone only once every year on an auspicious date. Legends & generations-old stories had described this large fiery ball of gas as Hope rising to defeat the darkness, both physically outside & mentally within every person. Not even the facts of Science can compare to such inspiring belief about the Sun. It was also said that back to the day, people woke up to the rise of Sun & slept soundly when the Sun set everyday. But when mysterious shadow phenomenons started to descent upon the world & little by little, Sunlight grew dimmer until one day, it was wrapped in the gloominess of the dark. There were no twinkling Stars to show the way home. Or the large, mysterious Moon to help broken-hearted people talk back to their long-lost loves dwelling in the Other Side or find safety in its soft glow. The people, hoping for the rise of the Sun again, began losing hope & sulk back to their everyday activities of life. It went like this for eternity. And this is where this story sets in, a story of a simple girl & a gentrophobic guy finding love & hope for themselves and for the world.
