Something is killing them, wings breaking, angels dieing and the kingdom falling into a dark shadow. The one born that started it all is unaware of what is coming right at her. Evil lurks in plain sight and goods trembles. This 5 year old has a lot coming at her. "She fluttered down to the ground, pulled her winds in and rolled up into a ball on the ground. Her eyes filled with water. Slowly a small drop came out at the end of her black eyes. Rolling down onto her cheekbone and upon her pale cheek. Dropping to her jaw and slowly on her chin. It quickly fell off into her lap. She was crouching now, her arms around her knees and knees tucked in. Tears started streaming down on her face. Her nose started to run, dropping down onto her lips and past, moving to her chin and off, just like the tears. Falling every millisecond now. The wind blew her hair into her face, making it stick to the water. Sniffling her nose every now and again, Seraphina couldn’t stop herself. She opened her mouth to scream, to yell so her pain would leave but her voice disappeared. Nothing came out. She blamed herself for everything, she could have stopped them, done something to help, but no, she stood there, frozen. She clenched her fists. She grabbed what she could and threw it. But she couldn’t settle down, her heart was too hurt and her mind only made things worse." ~CHAPTER 9 ARTHOURS NOTE: PLEASE READ PAST THE FIRST TWO PAGES, THEY SUCK, THE REST ARE SO MUCH BETTER, PROMISE. its just hard to start a book with an intresting start, please read on even if its boring XD appreciate it.

Fourteen-year-old Thea Presten has never left her secluded ranch, let alone practiced Alchemy. But beneath Bergen, Norway, in the hidden halls of Blackthorn and Burtree, she's about to discover a gift that defies the very codes of magic. As war looms between the Keeper's Animarum and the Shadow Alchemists, Thea must learn to harness her dangerous abilities in secret. Thrust into a world of Conversion Circles and Alchemical beasts, Thea realizes she's been unknowingly breaking the laws of Alchemy her entire life. But with the Code Keeper and Code Breaker both potentially interested in her abilities, Thea must decide who-if anyone-she can trust. The Code Keeper has manipulated every aspect of Thea's life, pushing her towards a destiny she never chose. As global battles rage and the Earth itself seems to rebel, Thea's decisions could tip the balance of power. Pica is beyond ecstatic at learning she's the Light Elemental; she just as thrilled at realizing her idol will be traveling with her. The way Aeris acted doesn't get her down for long; even though she wonders why she'll find a way to make the Priestess of Air accept her.
