Magena, Maggie for short, is a direct descendant of the Yenaloosi created by The Great Creator for his beloved Moon, Menily. Born out of The Sun's jealousy, humans create an antidote to kill the Yenaloosi's inner wolves. The Yenaloosi are split up and sent to "The Slums", or communities around the world where they are treated as sub-human. The rebellious ones are taken and experimented on, "for science", and turned into monsters.
One experiment, Lycus, escapes with a thirst for justice and starts a rebellion. Maggie is biting at the bit to join the rebellion, with only her mother's level headedness keeping her grounded. But when Fate intervenes, Maggie goes on a journey to find the Rebellion who call themselves Lunae Novae. The New Moon.
With her barely human friend Dakota, the clairvoyant, and the mutated Lycus by her side, she has a chance to finally change the world as they know it.
