Nopony in the Provinces remembers anything past three years ago. Queen Luna is in total control. The Hunger Games is beginning its third year of existence.

Twilight Sparkle, an eighteen-year-old unicorn, is a video game creator for the Capitol, a city full of lucky ponies called "the nobility" and the residency of the queen. When she is Reaped for the Games, along with Rarity, a famous designer, Lucky Buttons, and Grayhooves, she is sure death has come. After all, what are the odds one will survive the Hunger Games?

But then she meets five other tributes who change her world. As she begins to bond with them, memories rise - and are suppressed by the very thing that created the Provinces. Secrets are uncovered about the truth of her home - and herself. Will she be able to take back a country that has been lost for as long as anypony can remember, even with the help of her friends?
