I laid down on my stomach and began paddling toward the wave. I craned my neck to look up at the top of the wave as I saw it curling down to hit the surface.

I stood up and positioned myself as I rode parallel to the wave. The water was clear, almost transparent, and I ran my fingers through the water.

I was half way through the monstrous wave; then it came.

I crouched down and grabbed my leg screaming in agony. My board shook from under me making me lose my balance and fall to what seemed to be my death. I stole a quick glimpse at Nathan, catching his terrified expression, before the wave devoured me and threw me under and around like a game of football.

The ocean showed no mercy as it tossed me like a salad and soon I was hurled to the bottom before I blacked out.

"I need a surf board, please." The voice was so quiet and musical that, for a second at least, I couldn't register the order. I looked up slowly, dragging out the moment that my eyes could rest on his. "Sorry?" "A surfboard." l couldn't comprehend this relatively straightforward command. I was so sidetracked by his face. It was long, slender; dotted with freckles and the colour of fresh caramel. The cheekbones stood out prominently from his face, and his jaw was so deep set that it appeared as if he was permanently grinding his teeth. The boy's eyes were hard, but soft somehow; the exact shade of burnt sugar, and they bored into mine questioningly, surprised, as if he were completely unaware of his beauty. I doubted that very much. I had just torn my eyes away from his hair: blonde, curly and tousled, falling over his eyes perfectly, when he coughed. "Hello any day soon?" His voice was deep and scratchy now, and it was directed right towards me. Still dazed, I reached over for the clipboard with all the rentals. "Okay, in my defence, I just started working here." He laughed, and it was so attractive that I got the heart-in-throat feeling I had only experienced with Oscar before. The boy shifted from foot to foot as I surveyed the rest of his appearance: white shirt, shorts, and an earring just poking it's way out from a curl in his hair. He fetched the surfboard and put it on the counter. The money was suddenly thrust in my direction. "Maverick." he said, not quite meeting my gaze. "Reece." I returned. Summer Jones doesn't have a perfect life - a crazy half family, dropping grades and absolutely no idea on what she's doing in life. This tomboy has no care in the world about anything except her sleep, food and loved ones. In that order (or not). But someone's about to crash that scale of preference and make her mind even crazier. Caleb Anderson seemed to have a perfect life. He had the looks, the crazy psycho girls running behind him and amazing soccer skills. What more could he need, right? Wrong. All he needed was a wild Summer Jones to spice his life up and all she needed was an arrogant Caleb Anderson to show her how to live fully in life. Would these two completely independent people, go past their hatred for each other and depend on that one chance brought to them? *** "I just got started. Wait and watch how I ruin your entire existence." He narrows his eyes at me, challenging me to come at him. "Are you sure you didn't just walk into the wall when you were young? You seem to have had your head hit pretty bad considering the consequential brain cells loss." I say while crossing my arms over my chest to get my point across. "Take care of those heavy words, blondie. You might just have to pay for them." That seemed to anger him so I smirked even more, despite him calling me blondie. Trust me, I've got that a lot. "It's okay, I anyways don't deal with cheap stuff like you." I throw him the most sarcastic smile I could ever muster. Told you it's a love-hate relationship. A humorous non-cliché story with absolute madness, relatable characters, lots of laughter and lots of conflicting emotions from Summer and Caleb. Warning: contains some abusive content. Written by a 16-year-old who has no idea on how to write all this. Promise it gets better after a few chapters :) *** Ranked #1 in badboy on 13/11/2019 #1 in summer #7 in #teenfiction #2 in #hateatfirstsight #1 in Caleb

The Idea Of You

"I'll leave you alone." His words filled the tormenting silence, "After tonight you won't have to see me again, only in class and that's it." My heart ached at his words, why? This should be a good thing, I wouldn't have to deal with Alejandro Rodriguez ever again. So why... Why does the thought of him not being around hurt. I stopped playing with my food and slowly lifted my head to look at him. He stared straight into my watery eyes. His face filled with regret and concern. He stood up from his seat and walked over to me, squatting down to my level. "Hey, hey." He softly whispered his hands holding both of my mines, softly caressing them with his thumb. "Please don't cry, por favor." He reached a hand to my face and gently wiped the tears. "I-I don't want you to leave me alone." My voice breaking and my vision filling with tears.
