Can they survive long enough to see their friends or will they be the ones hunted... March of oni - It's been a few months since emperor Garmadons defeat and something isn't right. Hunter has had nightmares of the creatures known as oni but what he doesn't know that those are not nightmares but visions. Can he and his friends stop the oni and a mysterious creature or will Ninjago be covered in darkness.

As they help to clean up the mess, they hear of rumors, saying that there is a new darkness from the Dark Island that they have not been to in years. They decide to go alone, without Master Wu, P.I.X.A.L, or anyone. When they get there, they soon realize that it was more serious than they thought. The island was blocked off, and as the ninja realized that they were going to have to fight harder than ever before when they meet the princess, daughter of the Overlord. She and her army steal the ninja's powers and lock them up. The ninja try to escape, but have bigger issues when Lloyd's oni form starts to hurt his health. Can the ninja save Lloyd, get out of the palace to stop the princess, all on their own, without their powers?

And a lot of Lloyd in his new quest and Cole rediscovering his past.
