Callie Channing was young when her father died. Since his passing, she has spent her entire life believing her and her best friend, Iggy, were freaks of nature. Just short of her senior year, their parents reveal that they are part of a community of people with unique abilities just like them. When they are sent off to a school to learn how to master their powers, Callie realizes her mother kept a lot of things from her - that her father was actually murdered. In a struggle to master her abilities and fulfill her role as a legacy, Callie searches for the person, or thing, that murdered her father.

••• (Your P.O.V.) ••• Three years ago, I lost my sight in a car accident. Both of my parents were killed in the process, leaving me parentless. I was only 17 years old. Now it's three years later. Doesn't even seem like that long. I'm done with high school. I am now 20 years old, living the rest of my life as a blind person. It isn't easy. Anyways, I stay with a close friend mine. She takes care and looks after me. I also have another close friend. A friend named Charley. Charley Brewster. He's a few years younger than me. A high school student. He lives across the street from me two houses down. I've known him for years now. He has a girlfriend. He often checks on me to see how I'm doing, keep me company, or if I need help with anything. I consider him a good friend. We often talk to each other on the phone late at night before he goes to sleep for school in the morning. I get lonely when he's gone. One night, I stop by Charley's residence. I've had word from Mrs. Brewster, his mother, that a new neighbor was visiting for the evening at their home. She invited me over, and I obliged. Then I met a man. A strange man. I felt something off about this stranger. Something... Abnormal... Then Charley claims that he is a vampire. I didn't know whether or not I should believe him. Eventually, I did. He warned me to stay away from him at all costs. That I did. Overtime, this 'vampire' stranger got too attached to me over the next few days. As if he had already known me. I tried my best to avoid him, but the man kept bothering me. He didn't leave me alone... However, one night, quickly turned into Hell...
