A short story full of friendship, sacrifice, and justice. A retelling of the midwives in the Bible story Exodus. Constructive criticism is welcome. I'd love to hear what you love or what could be better.

Zahra

When Zahra Ibrahim's father passes away, her world is turned upside down as the rest of her family relocates from their home in Egypt to Canada. Reluctant to leave her familiar surroundings, Zahra grapples with a wave of emotions, and finds herself challenged to adapt to an entirely different environment. As she embarks on her new journey, she navigates the unfamiliar halls of her new school with her newfound friends by her side, and refusing to let the bullies erode her spirit. With each passing day, issues emerge, tensions rise both at home and in school. Her relationship with her twin brother gets strained when he starts acting differently. Through Zahra's eyes, we explore the triumphs and tribulations of a young Muslim girl trying to find her place in modern day society, while holding on to her faith and beliefs.
