Teenager Molly lacks self confidence and is not popular at school. While on a school trip to the wilderness, Molly is approached by Madam Ingram who presents her with an iPhone20. The woman tells her the phone has special powers and is to be called Nardie, meaning 'wise one'. Before long, Molly starts receiving texts from the phone informing her a pupil at her school plans to shoot the headmistress. When Molly warns the headmistress of the threat, Molly is immediately implicated in the murder plot. Shortly afterwards, Molly takes matters into her own hands when she receives a text from Nardie warning of a bomb attack at the local farmer's market. After thwarting the attempt, another email from the phone warns of a further bomb attempt. This time, Molly tries to trap the bomber with the help of Bradley, a young man she met via a text. Molly contacts the police to try and trap the bomber but she is immediately suspected of being the bomber herself.
Molly stops receiving texts from Nardie so is forced to find her own way out of the dire situation she is in. Using her own intelligence, the bomber is finally captured. Molly and Bradley have now formed a close bond and while on a day trip to the wilderness where Molly wants to show Bradley where she met Madam Ingram, they are confronted by the killer who has escaped prison. Molly accidentally kills the bomber. Madam Ingram drifts into view and tells Molly she is in fact Nardie and has used present technology to contact her. As a result of her 'guardian angel' Molly has developed self esteem and has become not only the city's hero, but also respected by the girls at her school. She has also discovered the power of love with Bradley now a firm friend.
