The snow, the air, the trees, and sky. Everything at once has diminished us piece by piece till we are nothing left. It takes everything away from us slow enough for us to see, but fast enough to not give us time to mourn. I close my eyes and lean onto him. This is it, I think, as Raza's labored breath comes to a slow huff. I close my eyes and wait to see the light just one more time. Then, as eternity seems to pass, he whines and I then look into his sky eyes for the last time. He has always looked mighty in his white and spotted fur. With his larger body and strength, he emits an aura of authority and power. Even now, his eyes are strong and controlled as his body is failing him. I can now see that he is truly falling, falling into an oblivion that will soon become our home. Falling, I think as I pull him close again and feel his last breath. If falling is what he is doing, then so shall I.
