With war raging all around, some battles can't be won...

♠

The year was 1916, Elosie Keller was dwelling in a secluded Belgian cottage where she remained hidden away from the world until the day he fell from the sky...

Drawn to the carnage of a fallen plane, she finds more than rubble when she notices that the pilot is still alive. She knows without medical treatment that the man is fated to die. Acting in a haste, she pulls the man from his destined coffin in hopes to help him live.

Eloise soon finds herself tending a German patient in her hidden home and realizes he isn't the monster the world made him out to be; instead, she begins to see much more than an officer, but a man with a heart just trying to survive a war.

When she is finally discovered by the Germans, she is called upon to become a field nurse for the men on the western front--only to fall into a whirlwind of unfortunate events that she must learn how to survive.

Follow Eloise as she takes on the battle of being a wartime nurse in a man's world, fighting the one enemy that could never be conquered-love...

Wildflowers In The Ruins: A 1917 Story by Snowdropsdream
18 parts Complete Mature
Completed fan fiction for the film 1917: This is the very first fan fiction I've ever attempted. Please be kind. I hope you like it. It features all of the main characters, several of the others, plus many I've created. Northern France, April 1917: A Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse is sent on an urgent mission across no-man's land accompanying two Lance Corporals, but she will have her own mission to fullfil also and be tested in ways she never deemed possible. Each chapter is named after a flower, relevant to the story, and that you can encounter growing in the wild, either in Britain or Northern France, with the exception of roses and Sweet William's. This story does contain spoilers from the film so it's really worth watching it first. Chapers two (from around halfway through) to eight I've taken directly from the film. The script is copyrighted to Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, although I've worked from what's spoken in the film rather than off the script. I've taken inspiration from other films, television and books (fiction and non-fiction) set in the First World War too such as Forgotten Voices, The Roses Of No-Man's Land, War Horse, The Crimson Field, Private Peaceful, They Shall Not Grow Old, Testament Of Youth, Journey's End and Birdsong. I've also taken inspiration from the beautiful book A Song For Will which is based on the true story of the gardeners and labourers from the Heligan Estate in Cornwall. Every character who isn't featured in the film 1917 is fictitious and the names are entirely made-up, although every female character's Christian name in my story belongs to a female relative of mine who was alive at the time of the First World War, for example my four Great-grandmothers were Mary-Jane, Lavinia, Ada and Alice. The other names were from my Great and Great-Great-Aunts. Enjoy. ❤ 🌺 ☘ 🌻 💖 🍂 🌿 🌼 💗 🌲 🌸 🍃 💕 🌹 🌱 ⚘💝 🌳 🏵 💮 💌 🌾 💐 🍁 💞 🍀

Nevertheless, Joseph continues to adapt the best he can to his different life in America. With his sketch pad and charcoal pencil, The Bronx is his biggest inspiration for becoming an Architecture. If it weren't for his unforgiving father breathing down his neck practically every second, he could move on with his life. But with family to protect and support, his dream of becoming a architecture remains faint. Louise Decker, a bright, inquisitive writer believes she's destined for more than working under the nose of her cold step father. She has big dreams of becoming a war correspondent and journalist just like her biggest role model Peggy Hull. It's hard to follow her dreams when society expects her to follow the stereotypical norms of a housewife. Louise yearns for more out of life rather than staying at home to raise children and watch over the house. Louise wants to share and explore the undiscovered stories in which the world holds so deeply. On the very day Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan, Jospeh and Louise's world collide forming an undeniable bond. Even though both come from different wealth classes. The two who are still so young and innocent are forced to open their eyes to a cruel reality of their devastating world. A world war is no place for two innocent people longing to follow their dreams. Things get even more complicated when they're both forced to go on an unpredictable journey to find hidden treasure to just keep the people they love alive. After all the two would go through thick and thin just to keep their loved ones safe. They'd stick up for each other From Dusk Till Dawn.
Erika- A War torn Love by KellyAlmandChinn
19 parts Complete Mature
Erika is thrown into a war she never asked to be part of nor agrees with. She lives in a family who have already suffered the loss of a mother, a step-mother and now face the loss of land and further life due to war. She is curious, which leads her to see unspeakable events. In the woods she begins to see the true horrors of the war, witnessing the murdering of Jews, and the rounding up of communities. Her best friend is caught and raped by the soldiers which leads her to exact revenge on those responsible. From this day she helps the British and resistance troops in any way she can, leaving food, providing safe passage through the woods and town and helping Jews out of the area. In doing this she meets an English soldier whom she falls in love with. The war however forces them to be parted. As Erika comes of age she joins the Werhmacht. She tries to continue in her efforts not to support the war, but finds this increasingly difficult when she meets a German soldier who sweeps her off her feet. This makes her monetarily question what she has done and is doing. She thinks that she falls in love with him, until he becomes aware of her efforts against the war. Following her failed relationship, she learns her brother has been killed and returns home to relay the news to her father. The war soon ends after this and life begins to return to normal, she goes to a dance and meets Eric again and realises he truly is the one she loves. This book was inspired by stories told to me as a child by my Grandmother, Erika. She died before this book was written, therefore much of the filling information making this into a story is fictional, however the essence of her, the stories she told and the life she lived are the soul of the book.
Levi's Last Hope by LovedAThousandLives
13 parts Complete Mature
*COMPLETED* When Rosie turned thirty-one with nothing to show for it, she panicked. Suddenly it felt like her biological clock was ticking, but she didn't want to settle for a man for the sake of having a child. So, after falling down a rabbit hole of research online, she decided to find herself a sperm donor. A strangely vague profile ends up catching her interest. The only real thing she learned about him was that his name was Levi and he was in the military. One invasive and intimate procedure later, Lily was conceived. It was a few months after her daughter was born, when Rosie should have been fretting about the price of nappies and lack of sleep, her worries were overshadowed by an event she never, ever could have predicted: a zombie outbreak. Rosie locked herself away in Finches tower block, stocked up on supplies from abandoned neighbouring flats, and lived every day with the sole purpose of keeping her daughter alive. Doing so meant avoiding the dead as well as the living. She'd been doing a decent job of it so far. Until a man breaks into the tower block, but it wasn't just any man. It was Levi, Lily's literal sperm donor. And he was there to save them. -- When a bioweapon was released on UK soil, Staff Sergeant Levi James Brackley was sent from pillar to post in an attempt to help neutralise and contain. Once it was clear neither was possible the last resort was to form a safe zone on the Isle of Wight. Levi decided to stay behind. The last evac chopper left without him on board. He knew it was a shot in the dark, that they were probably dead already, but he had to try. Without knowing it, they'd become a beacon of light during the darkest time of his life. Now it was his turn to be there's.
