Seventeen year old Alicia ("Alicia Jackson, clever as a devil but twice as pretty, nice to meet you.") was a runner - literally and figuratively. Not only was she part of her school's cross-country team but she had a certain ...um... affinity for running from her ...um... problems. Also, she kinda had a job in a secret *cough*kingdom*cough*. But that's another story.
Eventually, the girl learns that there are certain things she can't run away from, certain things she finds, she doesn't ever want to run away from and it all makes the world a better place, not just for herself.

She was 17 with beautiful long locks of silk chestnut colored hair and bronzed skin but a small scar on her left eye. One problem was that Acacia was a female and her birthday was 2 months away. The law of the wasteland is that all females must be wed at the age 18. Acacia loves no one other than her adoptive father because in the wasteland most people don't love at all and think of themselves to be a curse.
