Bailey, a fantastic football player who is in care, agrees to help a fellow friend's younger brother who is currently in grave danger as he is being threatened by his step-brother who needs money for a football college in America. Innocent, thirteen year old Dexter is being forced into robbing houses, including the grumpy Umblebys' six bedroom Deluxe Home, who are neighbours with Ashdene Ridge Care home. Knowing this, Dexter only marks the house, and unfortunately, two girls from the care home get the blame for it and are sent to the police station for an interview. Bailey and Dexter's step dad find out Dexter is being threatened by Roddy who is arrested, and as a punishment, the football college place is given to Bailey instead who is unsure at first but later accepts the offer and leaves Ashdene Ridge ridge.
