They continued racing racing until Kelvin lost it, he halted to catch his breath but then he saw the same creature in his front with an evil smirk on its face showing his big fangs, his elongated nails were dripping with blood. The dragons have come and gone since the Pliocene epoch when Wooly Mammoths roamed with humans during the ice age. For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. His actions and the amount of time he had avoided them made him a sort of celebrity in his town in the midwest. But one day that black dragon made its decision, he was to be her hatchling. When they're usually marked the child could turn to protective mode, running from home to prevent drawing attention to other children for the picking, and that's what he did, right to where they last landed. Luck, choice, a possible spell in those claws, whatever you may think doesn't matter. A black dragon never misses its mark. With agility unsurpassed by the other types they're almost impossible to avoid. But these dragons didn't breathe fire, were a threat, nor in any way the size of a 747 max. All they had that was unique from other creatures was a highly evolved brain with the intelligence of a human and a heart of platinum. Note. Some creatures don't belong to me in any way. How did you find this place!" He switched to angry. "You! You're the reason! They put me back because of you! It was all cause of you! It was your fault! All of it!" I'm so angry I yell only what I can. My thoughts flying through my head I can only yell unexplained nonsense. I've never felt anger like this before. The red glow lightly pours off my own skin and I take notice to it. I compare it to the glow coming off of him. Suddenly, it's an instinct to allow the anger to explode and in doing so the red glow is taken from his chest as I absorb it all and throw it out in all directions. I yank down away from the boy holding me just as the red glow gets sucked from him, absorbed into my hands, and then thrown out in a sphere of red glow. All boys stumbling but not by much and the one holding me gets knocked back, I'm free. "You die now, Peter Pan!"

I had been running for what felt like hours. My legs were burning, and I knew my body was about to give out. The tears that had long since dried still clung to my face. I was covered in bruises and cuts from tearing through the forest. Everything hurt-not just my body, but my heart as well. Just hours ago, I was at a motel with my mom, arguing about dinner, and now she was gone. She killed herself to protect me. That's what I keep telling myself, but deep down, I know it's not true. She was tired of running, tired of hiding. The hunters were close, too close, and to avoid being captured and tortured again, she decided to exit on her own terms. I had to get out of here fast. But I had nowhere to go, nowhere to run or hide-still, I kept going. Thankfully, I had good instincts and the one lesson my mother ever taught me: shapeshifting. I just needed to throw them off my trail. I glanced over my shoulder to see if I could spot any pursuers, but that was a mistake. I tripped and hit my head on a rock, and everything went black.
