Everyone knew the Hales were crazy.
It was practically synonymous in the supernatural world. 'Well, that was a Hale move' to describe something crazy and reckless and usually, somehow, inexplicably worked. They had a reputation, one of 'stay out of the way and don't get involved'. You didn't go near the Hales, or Beacon Hills. It was just not a good idea, and definitely not worth the personal cost.
