"I don't think you understand the situation at all," he replied coldly, his jaw clenched. "You can't just pick up an entire town and move it because of one problem."
"But people are going missing and being found dead!"
"You know what we do in America when someone kills our citizens? We fight."

Taren Gynnsey is your average sixteen year old girl. She goes to a high school, has a best friend, and likes to spend most of her time sleeping. Unfortunately for her, all of these things are now in the past.

When Taren is suddenly forced to move from her cozy home town to Ember Heights Montana, her entire life is flipped upside down. The town houses things unexplainable to even the most skeptical of people, and it's residents are no normal next door neighbors. The teachers at her new high school try to avoid students with any connections to it at all costs. Barely anybody comes in or out.

When three people go missing, the last of which being Taren's newly made friend, she bands together with others connected to the missing people to search for them and solve the case.

Follow Taren's adventure as she tries to uncover the secrets of Ember Heights, forges new alliances, makes enemies, and falls for the annoyingly handsome hockey-player that she shares her classes with.

People say you can do anything with teamwork, but can Taren keep her friends safe and uncover the towns secrets when, in Ember Heights, more is always less?
