"Now let's go, we need to go to the night classes front gate." I nodded as we both stoop up. When I took one step, I slipped from the water on the ground and Zero managed to catch me in his arms. We both stared at each other for what seemed like a long period of time. As his beautiful lavender eyes stared at mine, I felt as if we were frozen in time. Just the touch of his hands on my waist sends chills down my spine.
But that moment was short lived when we heard someone cough behind Zero. We both looked to see Yuki glaring at us like she wanted to rip my head off. Oh shit! I forgot that Yuki had a thing for Zero to.

"Excuse me?" "You heard me. I suppose you don't remember this but I'll tell you a little story," She cleared her throat, "Once upon a time there lived a family of 5 monsters. A pair of parents and 3 children. One was an angel. Not a monster, but she was treated differently. Everyday, she got beaten and yelled at. That was why she locked herself in her room and no-one cared to bother seeing her as they treated her like trash. One did though, he was a handsome boy but a very ugly one at that, a traitorous monster you call. One day, as the little girl decided to exit her room, she found out he betrayed her for somebody's hand in marriage, someone that disliked the angel to the pit. Oh my. Poor little girl cried so much, that her rage and power took over. She had no use for her cute, gentle side anymore, and darkness clouded her mind. On the same day, she jumped out from the window. The end." Emiko smiled sickly before it turned into an obvious fake one that she purposely did. I stared at her with my eyes widened apart as I processed the whole story over and over again in my mind. I have a really sick feeling now. Not physically, but mentally. As if I've done something really wrong and feel guilty. "W-What do you mean, I don't remember this story? You never tell me things.." I said. She begun with a scoff and laughed manically. I glanced right to see cabinets stocked with medicine, then left, where a familiar pair of dull gray eyes met my violet ones. Relief, care, guilt, and confusion swirled in those stormy irises. Confusion...over what I was. The question I dreaded to answer. I'm not like you, or Kaname or any other of those stuck up purebloods... doesn't mean I wont use what i am to an advantage" He would let out a slight laugh, kneeling down "my my... This again with you being human. You were born human yes, but now?" He would say, plunging his hand into my side. I would tense, yelling out in pain and gritting my teeth as he moved his hand around in my side before pulling it out, holding his small bloodied hand infront of my face. "This... is vampire blood. You are human in flesh alone and even that is questionable..." he would grasp onto my shoulders, looking directly into my eyes "you need to figure out what you are, only then will you be able to escape, then take back control. Only when you accept this will you be able to kill them all" he would say calmly.

The night bled silver, a wound of moonlight seeping through the tattered sky. The remnants of battle lay strewn about-bodies broken, crimson pearls glistening in the cold kiss of the stars. How exquisite she had been, poised unknowingly at the center of his board, a piece moved by unseen hands, guided by threads of destiny spun long before her first heartbeat. I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed.
