As Remnant is on the edge of a global war it seems Salem has heard roamers about a device that has the potential to bring things from different planets and plans to use it, upon hearing this Ozpin sent out RWBY and Qrow to retrieve it before Salem. 
Upon activating the device they are transported to a world at war.
