So, like all high school love stories, you've got the shy girl who doesn't really have any friends. And then you've got the school's most popular guy who also happens to be the football team captain and quarterback. But this love story's a bit different.
Taylor Ross is the gothic and depressed weirdo who everyone thinks is mute. She was abused until her parents where arrested when she was eight, and then got bullied every year after. Not to mention she cuts herself.
Colton "Bolt" Larson is the jock we mentioned earlier. Stunning looks, muscular arms, extremely athletic... He's single and has tons of girls just waiting for him, but he declines all of them. Now, Taylor is one of those girls with a huge crush on him but she won't admit it. And besides, he doesn't know she exists. That's one of the reasons she cuts.
So, when Taylor tries out for the softball team, she doesn't expect to make it on the team. Nor does she expect for Bolt to be the first one to congratulate her.
Bolt realizes Taylor has been cutting, and it becomes his mission to make her realize the happiness she has. And all Taylor wants is to catch her fly ball of love.
