SHORT HOPE

MY NIGHTMARE BEGAN on the weekend my basketball team and I went on a camping trip to Lake Wyatt. They thought we needed some team bonding time, but I knew that wasn't true. They just wanted an excuse to leave school two hours early on Friday, because it was considered a school activity. The girls didn't need any bonding time, they were as close as sisters, except for me. I was never included in any team parties or team get-togethers. I was actually quite surprised that I was invited to the camping trip, Coach Russell probably forced it on them, she was always having pity for me. I tried to make myself believe that I was the best player on the team, that they were just envious of me, but I didn't care about who was best, all I wanted was a real group of friends.
