Beyond Our Stars {A Voltron Fanfic}

"Grandma, can you tell me a bedtime story?"

Looking down at the small child, and elderly lady smiled and nodded.

"Of course darling. Which one would you like to hear?"

"The one about the lions! I love it when you tell that one, its so exciting!"

The woman stared down at the girl and chuckled her raspy laugh. "Alright, alright. I suppose I can tell you that one."

The little girl snuggled into her blanket excitedly, hugging onto her stuffed lion tightly. "Around ten thousand years ago, in a far off galaxy there lived two species of aliens. The Galra, and the Altean."

The grandmother smiled at the gleam in the young girls eyes. She knew that her granddaughter would grow up to do something great. "They lived in harmony together. The Galra leader, Zarkon, and the Altean leader, Alfor, were great friends. A bit competitive, nonetheless."

How great would she be? Legendary.

"Them, and three other leaders of different species were named 'The Defender's of the Universe'. They would always work together, fight together, to save others. They brought peace across the lands."

"Oh grandma, this is one of my favourite parts!"

She shushed the child. "I know, I know. One day, a strange meteor like rock crashed into Zarkon's home planet. It was made out of a strange material, one Alfor deemed to be able to create rifts into different realities."

"A lady came out, her name was Honerva. She was part Altean, from a different reality."

I was just a little kid, listening to my grandmother tell me stories. I hadn't known at the time all of this was true. But in the near future, there wouldn't be any choice for me to believe.

I know its not exactly like it, this is a fanfic for a reason. Chill.
