Marissa Langford, one of the esteemed members of the Pack Doctors. She was appointed as the right hand of the Pack Doctors at a young age of 25, given that almost every certified member in the group was at the age of 50. Everyone had high hopes for the Marissa Langford, a lass that has achieved what most would want in their lives. But, one thing that Marissa doesn't have is a mate. What a glorious thing to be bestowed upon by Mother Luna to the lycans. Marissa had brains, tact, wealth, anything one would require surviving in a world of bloodshed. She had everything, but a mate. A mate would ensure one's happiness in their lifetime. Many mocked her for not having a mate. Some said that she was a spawn of the devil which resulted in her for not meeting her mate at her age. Normally, lycans meet their mates in a few years after shifting fully. But, not Marissa. She wasn't even a fully shifted lycan, a weakness, in the eyes of many. - "Would Rissa's mate be strong and protect me, Mama?" Little Rissa asked her mother in bed. "Of course, Rissa dear. He will protect you and shower you with love and care when Mama is not there. He will be your everything in your lifetime. He will move mountains and shift seas for you. Every lycan has one. I am sure that you will meet yours in your lifetime," Mama took a deep breath and continued, "because every lycan and their mates are chosen by Mother Luna." "Like Mama and Papa?" asked Rissa who was half-asleep by then. "Yes, Rissa, like Mama and Papa," said Mama as she caressed Rissa's head softly as Rissa went to sleep. That night, Marissa Langford dreamt of two lycans, one as dark as midnight and one as red as blood, both bound together by a red string of fate. WELL, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
