It's been over ninety-seven years since a devastating nuclear apocalypse wiped out almost all life on Earth.
The only known survivors lived on twelve space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the apocalyptic event. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station called 'The Ark', where about 2,400 people live under the leadership of Chancellor Thelonious Jaha. Resources are scarce, so all crimes-regardless of their nature or severity-are punishable by ejection into space (also known as 'floating') unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age.
After The Ark's life-support systems are found to be critically failing, one-hundred juvenile prisoners are declared 'expendable' and sent to the surface, in a last-ditch attempt to determine whether Earth is habitable again, in a program called 'The 100'. The teens arrive on a drop ship on a seemingly pristine planet they have only seen from space.
They attempt to find refuge and supplies at an old military installation, Mount Weather Emergency Operations Centre, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. However, they land some distance from the intended target and soon face other problems. Confronting both the wonders and the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community.
James 'Jay' Walker, a mechanical engineer on The Ark, is known for being shy and reserved, only speaking when spoken to, and doing the best he can when given a job. His job, although not always the safest, landed him in the social circles of both Finn Collins-the Spacewalker-and Raven Reyes-the daredevil mechanic.
But after an incident that James couldn't have seen coming, he lands himself in the Skybox. Then soon after, a trip down to Earth.

A strange-looking contraption is seen rapidly falling from the sky. Its descent was calculated and precise...until it wasn't. These kids numbered a hundred, have ages ranging from 12 to 17. And as for why they are all strapped inside this burning 90-year-old dropship heading to the ground...Well, it all started at the end. Ninety-seven years ago, a nuclear apocalypse struck the Earth, leaving the planet simmering in radiation. But of course, the human race was a stubborn one. At the time of the bombs, twelve nations had operational space stations that they used to house survivors. Later, these twelve stations banded up and merged, becoming the one we now know as The Ark. For many years now, The Ark has kept what's left of humanity alive. But about a year ago, an engineer discovered a huge problem in the Ark's system. The Ark's life support systems are failing, and it won't be long before they run out of air and die. Hence, the current situation. These kids are being sent on a desperate mission to see if the ground is survivable again. But why kids though? Won't it be better to have the more capable scientists or guards be the ones to take this risk? The council had a lot of reasons, but the main one being: these kids were expendable, after all, they are criminals. --- This is a The 100 Fanfiction. The MC is a reincarnator. Yeah, I know. "How are you holding up?" Sinclair asks, eyes scanning her face. Then, before she can respond, he quickly adds, "-and don't lie to me." Ronnie exhales, leaning forward on her elbows. "I'm surviving." ~*~ Ronnie Sinclair, daughter of Jacapo Sinclair, strayed slightly from his footsteps and became one of the youngest zero-G mechanics on the Ark alongside Raven Reyes.
