I am thinking of using my current D&D campaign as a jumping off point. Perhaps I will write the back-story of my character: Birdie Chanteclaire, bard extraordinaire. ;)
A note: I am trying to write quickly, so I am using ELEPHANT for when I cannot think of the right word, just so I do not get stuck. It is an awesome NaNoWriMo technique!

Atticus Deane was just a boy; a broken, misguided boy. It was an accident; no one told him how to play life's game. He had to make up his own rules, but where did that get him? In an abusive relationship with his older brother and all his bad friends. That wasn't what he bargained for. But Atticus left that life behind; he was rebuilding a new apartment and doing the same with a new life. Well, trying. Atticus and his brother never got along after their parents left. He never spoke a word to his brother if it weren't mean and cruel, which was why a request to join in on his big brother's 'fun' and 'games' was a surprise to everyone, much less himself. But when things are taken way too far, Atticus is suddenly running and ends up at the doorstep of an unusual compound that sparks something in his instincts. Taking refuge away from the poison of others, Atticus knew that he couldn't hide forever, but he'd do anything to be left alone so he didn't have to hide anymore. The Will To
Will is a slut. At least, according to everyone else she is. With a past that both defines her and won't let her go, Will has had enough of the name-calling and assumptions. She's decided to use it all as fuel to get what she wants: to take down Reid Reynolds. Reid is a "bad boy" (a term that makes Will's eyes cross into oblivion) and he represents everything that Will despises. He is a TA in one of her university classes, making her plan even easier. She has an entire year to follow through with her agenda. No problem. It's all under control. Except it isn't. When women start getting assaulted on campus, everything Will is running from begins to catch up with her. A product of NaNoWriMo. Evelyn Moore - daughter of the dreaded Ivy, must flee her past, her mother's lineage, and her village. Ivy was an admired healer, before the illness took over the village. The illness was incurable. Ivy and Evelyn struggled day and night, trying to rescue the sick. All who fall ill end up in a misty graveyard. They are driven to the woods and they build a small hut in the dense forest, barely living from day to day, but peacefully. That is, until the town's leader gathers enough men to track Ivy, and take her back to the village to be burned. Evelyn knows that she'll be next - being the only descendant of Ivy. She packs up her few belongings and gallops deeper and deeper into the woods until her eyelids fall, causing her to lose control of the horse, fall off of it and into a black abyss. When Evelyn wakes up, there are two midnight blue eyes staring back at her. Where is she? How did she get there? Why can't she remember anything? What is her name? Why does her head hurt so much?Complete
