Book 1 of my Changelings Series
I was 11 when I ran away from home, and 11 when I stole the face of a boy and used it to get my freedom, even if it wasn't much. I was 11 when I met the kids who became my family, the kids I have to protect.
My brother can disappear, and my other can explode. My sister can control fire, and the other can walk through walls. We are not normal. We're probably not human. That's not really our problem though.
Now I'm 16 and I'm getting pretty tired of running. DELTA is coming for us, to destroy our home, our identity, and our lives if we don't listen, and God knows I won't let them take my family

Fluttering Darkness
In the 1960's, scientists manufactured a hyper virus that modified a person's DNA to the point that they became more than just human, and are able to modify certain aspects of nature. Around 40 years later, in the year 2001, Lucas Hansen finds himself in the thick of a prejudice struggle between HV's and humans. After Lucas discovers that he is an HV himself, he meets a girl named Rachel who possesses a virus that can generate flames out of thin air. They are soon on the run from the authorities who are trying to kill them on government orders, all the while making their way to the safe haven of a mysterious city that Rachel is from. Action, secrets, adventure, and survival are all prevalent in Fluttering Darkness as Lucas and Rachel journey to the city of HV's. ***** The official theme of the book is Dreams, by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, so there's a link to that over to the side. I don't know why, but whenever I hear it, it just gets me all excited about the series. Half Hero ⚡️ {Superhero Adventure Scifi}
I should be dead. At least, that's what the government officials told me in the super-secret lab where I woke up strapped to a mattress in a windowless room...Sound problematic to anyone else? Like I told the psychos experimenting on me, I've got zero clue how I got my new powers, but I'm sure-as-shit not going to let them turn me into a deadly weapon (or squeeze me into a spangly jumpsuit). Problem is, I'm not so great at controlling whatever the hell it is I've become...Not to mention I'm on the run from my country for a teensy-weensy act of treason while being chased by a shadowy masked mute who may or may not have superhuman abilities too (but is definitely stupid hot under his off-putting disguise). Hello my name is Jack and I'm going to tell you something that will change the way you see others. Let me tell you about me first. I live alone by my self, yup just me and my house. My parents went missing by this unknown streak that the Force Of The Air, BIF, and Pops been trying to stop for some time. I go to a shelter to get my food and everything I need for survival. I chose to stay at my house by myself but it's rough. Its alright though, the shelter basically does everything for me. I can't live with family members because they're either gone or dead. I live on a planet called Jompado. It's very far and really good looking, but for crime wise I would think twice about living here. I can't really tell you about my features because I don't know if your one of them. Any ways I'm going to tell you how I went from being a cool kid to a dangerous weapon. Now, not only does he have to deal with school, his almost non existent social life and his aggravating younger brother, but he also has to fight super villains and learn to control his new found powers to avoid blowing his cover to the world...and it is a lot harder than he anticipated. Prepare for a roller coaster ride of lame one liners and painfully awkward adolescent behaviour, along with bromances and romances, breakups and make ups, and even some cliché superhero behaviour, villains who hold a grudge, and really dorky super suits. In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again.
