Two years had become enough. Enough time for Carmen to become used to the fact Steve was back, to find her feelings, and start a better life for herself. Things had mostly gotten back to normal when she had decided to return.
The awkward relationship with Steve and how they seemed absolutely unable to find the right time to get together, running S.H.I.E.L.D., and taking care of her now older and matured daughter. Everything was starting to feel and seem much better.
And then one more person decided to show up.

Endings And New Beginnings
This is a sequel to Red Winter. I didn't plan on writing a sequel but here it is! Again, the events transpire in a timeline where they've restored everything after defeating Thanos and reversing the effects of the snap. This is focused on Natasha, Bucky and Steve only. I have always appreciated the dynamics of Steve and Natasha's relationship even if there is no romance in it. And I often wonder how Natasha and Bucky would interact in the present considering their past. Again, I don't own Marvel and any of its characters. Just like you I daydream what happens between the fades in and fades out, between the end of the movie, its mid-credits scene and end-credit scene. And this is the result, one of the results.
