The "Gifted" are human. They just have weird powers that no one can explain. This is the story of Rose Nightshade, a girl who broke out of a prison/ lab for "Gifted" criminals and experiments, with the help of the rest of her "Gifted" family.

She leaves them for their own safety, and ends up being taken in by another, mostly "Gifted" family, who protects her for two years before having to move away, and being unable to bring her with them, they hide the door to the basement.

But when a group of boys moves in, and one uncovers the door, what will happen? What will happen when they all learn about the secret underground room, and the girl in the basement?
