Synopsis:
Grimm, demigod of death and fire, was sent into battle to prove to his father he was already worthy of ruling over the throne of Essiaxus, the celestial realm with all kinds of demons and spirits. While he was on the other side of the bridge that connected both Essiaxus and the human realm, believed to be indestructable, was actually destroyed by something yet to be known. It was a crisis, him being stuck in another realm. Knowing that without him in his own realm, Grimm might not be able to prove his worth as ruler of the demonic realm, so he needed to get back fast.
Now, there are three known ways to go back: the first was to go to the human realm and summon a portal to Purgatorio, after Purgatorio, he needed to walk a lengthy road towards Essiaxus. The second which isn't that easy; die, which will send him to Purgatorio, of course that's not really an option. Or the third, get a kiss from his one true love and immediately return to the celestial realm, if, of course, that is possible. Now, which would actually be easier, and possibly the fastest way to get back home?

After being transported into a novel, Qin Shu discovers she's just a stand-in, having taken her half-sister's place to enter the world of cultivation. Eight years into her training, her half-sister - born with no spiritual talent - unexpectedly finds her way onto the path of cultivation, and Qin Shu's secret is publicly exposed. Cast out by her sect with only a meager third-level Qi Refinement, she faces a grim fate: her striking beauty makes her an ideal target to be made into a spiritual furnace, doomed to a brief life of torment.
As dawn breaks, Qin Shu stares out her window, deep in thought. Her only way forward is to focus on cultivating, sharpening her abilities, and staying ahead of her half-sister. Determined to survive, she waits until the others sleep, then sneaks out to train, embracing the grind.
