Dianne Jennings has an issue with telling the truth. When she gets caught up in a major lie, right before the end of her sophomore year in high school, her parents threaten to send her to a boarding school, far away from all her friends. To keep that from happening, Dianne swears to not tell a single lie all summer.

But, then the ever-so-cute Clay Hawkins moves next door, and reveals a secret that he asks Dianne not to tell anyone. Will she be able to keep the secret with her newfound promise, or will she just end up getting into more trouble?
