This is far ahead in the future of the Clans. Many things have changed. The twolegs have long since abandoned the territory. They only occasionally visit the lake. And, even more rarely, camp in the forest. The dirt thunderpath is all overgrown with grass. The Clans don't know why, but they don't care, they're just happy the twolegs and monsters are gone.

Many moons have passed since the great Firestar lived. He is only spoken of in few nursery tales, and has been discarded as a myth. Tigerstar is also rarely mentioned. And he, too, is thought of as a myth. They have also forgotten the old territory, the Great Battle, the Battle with BloodClan, and the Great Journey.

RiverClan found a territory much like SkyClan's, and, with the new discovery of their existence, offered to let them stay there. All the other Clans agreed with this. Now, only the oldest if elders remember when SkyClan did not live with the other Clans. Finally, the ancient wrong has been righted.

All has been peaceful for many moons. But now, tensions are rising with yet another Clan taking prey. RiverClan are feeling trapped, they seem to be regretting their idea of allowing SkyClan into the territories. They even gave up a strip of territory to SkyClan so they could pass through without disturbing any other Clan. Now, unable to take back what they did, RiverClan faces a fateful decision. And their leader, Leopardstar, has become greedy, and power hungry. Will all the Clans suffer for her selfishness?

Cinderpaw, newly apprenticed cat of ShadowClan, must walk the path of a troubled young cat. The rising tensions will no doubt lead to war, and she's caught in the middle of it. Hardly getting to see her brother, watching her parents' relationship deteriorate, and constantly getting into trouble does not help her in this time of turmoil. What will happen to her Clan as they try to stay neutral through this viscous series of battles?
