Gryffindor High is most popularly known for their parties. Loud music, lots of drinks, everything. Slytherin Prep, on the other hand, isn't known for anything except being snobby and preppy and sneaking into Gryffindor's parties. 

During one party specifically, Harry Potter, the most popular Gryffindor, and Draco Malfoy, the most feared Slytherin, get paired up for Seven Minutes In Heaven.  Both a little tipsy, so there's no arguments against it. 

The next day, they wake up together. In the same bed. They can't hide what they did. Neither of them can escape from the name calling and the teasing. They hate it. At least, for a few weeks. Eventually, they become a couple from rivaling schools and it starts as a "Romeo-and-Juliet" type of things. But then, after about three months, people get over themselves and accept it.
