From trauma, an accident, fear; we may never know.  She's the last survivor in her family. Her brother's the only one that can be sure of what happened, but for all she knows he might as well be dead.  However, she clings to hope and searches for him, killing as many Walkers (aka Zombies) on the way, with a vengeance.  Along he way, she meets other survivors.
