This is the story of Anea whose life is less than perfect. As a matter of fact, her life is generally terrible, and it is about to get a whole lot worse when she finds her spark, or soul mate as some people like to call them, triggering her supernatural blood, and plunging her into a new world of misfortunate circumstances that even her sardonic past cannot prepare her for. Unluckily, for her she wasn't born to be something as mundane as a shifter, vampire, elf, or demon. She was born to an extremely powerful species on the verge of extinction the blood of which is said to grant the one using it untold power. Constantly, being hunted for her power, will she be able to elude death? Having entered this new world she already feels like she has one foot in the grave. She just hopes by the end of her journey she isn't six feet under. For better or for worse, this is her story, and it typically falls under the "for worse" category.

I would never wish this on my worst enemy, and it was happening to my mate. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!"
