Thirty-Six Hours

We open on a man called Emmanuel, a young research scientist on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. He's studying his algae samples, when someone comes to tell him that there's something wrong with the boat. They have thirty-six hours to live.

Aviana recently graduated from the Coast Guard academy in Connecticut, and she's been waiting for a deployment. Her first mission? A research vessel in distress.

Manny sends out an S.O.S. call on his boat's sat phone, hoping to reach someone - anyone. Ava picks it up and answers, and a spark passes immediately between the two. Over the course of thirty-six hours, and with the wonders of satellite phones, Ava and Manny get to know each other while trying to solve the problem.
Ava eventually manages to get to him, just in time. Though no one but Manny knows that he doesn't have much of a chance, anyway.
