My name is Tris Prior, I got shot and I died. But I survived.
It has been two years since Tobias, Chris and the others returned to Chicago. They have restored the faction system, but added a faction named Factionless. There the ones that don't fit anywhere, or Divergents go if they don't know what to choose. They saw Tris's body and now Tobias is heartbroken, cold. He hasn't seen his mother since they returned to Chicago, and doesn't want to either.
I woke up, I woke up after two years years. And now, now I'm gonna come back.

A Fractured City Of Ashes [Divergent 2026 Fanfiction]
~ Adding a new twist to the infamous series Divergent by Veronica Roth ~ When Evelyn Johnson, mother of Tobias Eaton and wife of Marcus Eaton, fakes her death in order to escape the domestic abuse of her husband, she flees to the Factionless in hopes to find a haven. She's met with uncertainty and guardedness from the very people she used to support by providing basic survival supplies. Up until she reveals a secret that changes - and will change - everything: she's pregnant. She asks the Factionless for their help and they oblige out of sympathy once she recounts the trauma she went through. Astrid Johnson grows happily among the Factionless - she makes friends and feels included in the community, but her existence remains unknown to her father Marcus and her brother Tobias. Evelyn tells her their story and trains her from the earliest age to run, climb, fight, and also jump on and off moving trains. She raises Astrid with the idea that at age 16, she will join Dauntless and secretly look out for Tobias, whom Evelyn mostly lost sight of. Evelyn sees it as the only way to reconnect with her long-lost son, wishing he would join the boiling revolution among the Factionless. Except that obviously, things don't always go to plan. And infiltering the Dauntless under a false identity while under the terrifying scrutiny of Dauntless leaders is a near-suicide mission. ⚠️ TW: dark themes, such as domestic abuse, bullying, suicide, abusive authority figures, violence, drugs, sexual encounters... but graphic scenes are kept to a bare minimum to respect the tone of the original series ⚠️

Have you ever wondered what Divergent would be like if told by the character of Tobias Eaton? What would be his views of the Dauntless initiation? What would he think about Tris, about society? This story is the first novel of the Divergent series written by Veronica Roth, only in Four's Point of View. I am currently revising this story since it was written more than a year-and-a-half ago and has a lot of mistakes. The second book of Tris is Alive, if you haven't read that one yet I STRONGLY encourage you to read that one first. A year and a half after her death Tris is finally back in Chicago! But since she's back a lot has changed. There are no more factions, there are more secrets people are hiding, and a huge toll has been taken on all of her friends.
