В Китае - символике митраизма - ворон связывается со стихией воздуха .  Также издавна ворон считался вещей птицей, умеющей предсказывать будущее. Вероятно, это связано с тем, что ворон умеет воспроизводить человеческую речь. 
У скандинавов ворон - знак  Одина. Скандинавские гадатели  считали, что, если крылья ворона сложены, это предвещает победу, если расправлены - поражение.
Иногда ворон - чаще ворона - интерпретировался как символ надежды.
