The world was never meant for this. Not this quaking, freezing, splitting apart ruin of earth. And she didn't know why it was happening. All she knew is that she wanted out from under this damn building, and, by Gods, she would take all the help she could get to get back to safety.

Veeno Had always expected the worst but he never could have imagined that an apocalypse would start because people COULDNT die. I wrote this story when I was 14/15, I had a lot of fun writing it at the time, but boy would I change some stuff now but for the sake of authenticity I'm posting it as is.

The end of mankind has finally come, in the least spectacular way. When pen-pals Neri, a Canadian, and Eleni, an American, finally meet each other in the flesh for the first time, they believe it's the happiest day of their lives. That is, until planes fall from the sky, a virus spreads like wildfire, and mushroom clouds of flame fill the sky. Why? Because of one thing the media never released: the DED virus. Similar to other zombie-like infections, DED does three things: infect, reawaken, and devour the living. After learning of possibly the only safe place on the continent, Florida and all other states and countries become overridden by the Restless and insignificant to survivors. Eleni and Neri are going to embark on a daring trek all the way from Florida back to the Canadian border, where the remainder of the survivors have relocated. A futuristic apocalypse plagues the world. A virus was created in order to control the rising population but it got out of hand. The side effects were unpredictable and deadly. Resulting in a transformation. Humans were turned into disfigured creatures with sharp teeth, soulless black eyes, and elongated limbs; that crave only two things. Human flesh and spreading their disease. The members of high society had a city closed off and protected while forcing anyone else out, leaving the lesser folk to deal with the consequences of the governments creation.

A virus has swept the earth causing a global pandemic. Masks are required in public, social distancing is crucial; things are very, very different from how they used to be. But just when the virus starts to calm down things take a turn for the worse as a second stage commences. Stuck in a hotel from a ski trip, Karma learns that there is no precaution you can take to protect yourself from the second stage. It is either kill or be killed. But what does one do when they find themselves infected with the very virus that caused the apocalypse? After all, she's the only one who can save the sheep in the cellar.

The world comes to a conclusion as the effect of zombies.. who invade this Earth unexpectedly. People are trying hard to survive these new species as they don't know their intentions.. some believe it's a flu or a virus... some believe God has stopped believing on this Earth. But the true reason is.. there isn't a reason. The only thing I can say is.. "Survive".

It really was just an average day. We walked around blissfully unaware of all the horrid things that would occur in just a few short hours. Then, it all went to hell. We really were too young for this, but we all have to make sacrifices. True evil in this world shines. Sacrificing all in the name of survival.
